The Cloud Appreciation Society Manifesto Poster

One of the tasks that I recently was set at college was to design and illustrate a poster for the cloud appreciation society's manifesto. It had to be done with either a propaganda, surrealist or psychedelic feel to it (can you guess which one I opted for?!) and it had to include all of the text from the manifesto on it. These were my finished results.

Box Doodle

So we've been working on 'box doodles' at college this week- basically you get a box of you choice and then transform it into something else! My box is a night nurse box and below it is a sneak peak at me starting work on it.

An Army of (Fancy Dress) Caterpillars

From the initial insect sketches (in the previous post) I decided to take forward the caterpillar designs- the collective noun for caterpillars is an army of caterpillars and I decided that they were going to be wearing fancy dress so here is a first glimpse into my sketchbook at my 'army of fancy dress caterpillars'!

A Swarm Of Insects

Over the summer we were given a 'little book of texts' as a starting point for some illustration work. One of the pages was a list of collective nouns for different insects- here are my initial sketchbook pages of drawings.

"Paying The Bill" Illustration

This was an illustration that I did to accompany a piece of writing called 'paying the bill' which was one of our module tasks at college over the last few weeks. It was one of my first proper attempts at drawing people and I'm pretty pleased with how it has turned out. I tend to avoid drawing people if I can help it but this made me have a go at it and I think that it was long overdue!
