I decided to decorate some wooden letters to put on my daughter's bedroom door. First problem I encountered was that I couldn't get the right letters! However I didn't let this stop me- I bought two 'F's' and cut the middle stalk off and sanded them down to turn them into 'L's' :-) After they were ready I had to put on an undercoat and then paint them blue- next step to decorate them.
