Anniversary Present For James (part 1)
This is the present that I made for James for our 1 year wedding anniversary. It is a paper cut out- the biggest I have attempted so far at 60cm x 80cm. It took ages! I'm pretty pleased with it though and James seems pretty happy with it too! I will put up another post with some more photos (including it finished!) soon.

Birthday Cake For Mum
It was Mum's birthday the other day and James decided to bake her a cake! It was James' idea to put her initials on top of the cake in icing sugar so he drew some lettering and I cut them out (my very small input in the whole cake process!). The only issue was the letters were a bit big for the cake (probably should have thought to measure it first!) and also the cake not being flat meant it didn't want the stencil to lie properly on it! Anyway... Mum was very happy with it and it tasted really good- well done James!

z bed
Over the last few weeks I've been working on covering an old 'z-bed' that I've had since I was younger and had been made slightly redundant because a) it was covered in winnie the pooh fabric and b) it was ripped. It's hard to get a good impression of it here as I forgot to take a 'before' photo... oops! I brought some lovely purple fabric from tavy textiles and decided to just 'go for it' (i've never attempted anything like this before!). It's not going too badly so far although it's taking rather a long time! Hopefully it will be ready for my brother in law Phil to sleep on when he comes down for new year's eve! I'll put a photo on when it's completely finished.

Another Darwin
Sorry I haven't posted anything for a little while, I've been busy with college work as well as getting the hallway ready to be plastered! I've finished the Darwin project now- I thought I'd post up one more, this one is made from polystyrene and sewing-pins. I think it's quite effective... not quite sure how it represents Darwin's personality though!
