'Tree-mote'

These were some of the left over bits from a project that I've been working on for college- James stood them up in the remote control and I named it 'tree-mote' I thought it was quite amusing....

Caterpillar In Boscastle

We went to Boscastle last weekend and we found this lovely caterpillar. It amazes me how fantastic cameras are now- zooming in on the photo you can see the amazing detail of the caterpillars pattern so much better than I can see with my eyes!

Sad Broken Teapot

James brought me this teapot a few months ago which I loved. Unfortunately (I have no idea why) the kitchen cupboard door decided to spontaneously come off it's hinges and fall onto the counter below, knocking a whole bottle of fabric softener all over the kitchen floor and destroying a cafetiere, a tea bag dish and my beautiful teapot :-( I couldn't bear to throw it away at first but then I thought I could photograph it in memory (as it is kind of silly to be hanging on to a smashed teapot) I think it looks kind of poetic....

Eden Project Trip

the eden project...

me drawing at the eden project!

lots of tiny ants!

snow outside the eden project

We went on a college trip to the Eden project back in December. It was a very surreal day with snow still on the ground outside and temperatures of 30 degrees in the tropics dome!! Our initial brief was to do 6 A4 pages of drawings of plants from the Eden project. This was a pretty massive task to do in such a short space of time- I'm not particularly confident in my drawing and to produce something that I'm pleased with usually takes me hours (for just one drawing!). Anyway I gave it my best shot and the results are above- I'm not particularly pleased with any of them but I guess that it's all good practice. We now have to develop these drawings into 'monster plants' more about this to follow in a later post!

My Christmas Decoration!

I thought I would give you all a glimpse of my artist talent from an early age..... this is the Christmas bauble I made when I was in the rainbows when I was 5 or 6 years old. Mum was telling someone the other day about this particular decoration and referring to it as a snowman... it's supposed to be my Dad... anyway it's still going strong and it is on Mum's tree again this year approximately 19 years on. Not bad going I think!

Our First Christmas Tree

This is our very small and cute first Christmas tree together. We had a lovely evening a couple of weeks ago at Ensleigh garden and leisure center picking it out. I thought that I'd put it on here one because I'm very pleased with it and two because it's nearly Christmas!

More garden creatures

Here are some more interesting creatures that I found in our garden. The hornet is unfortunately dead I think (otherwise I probably wouldn't be so close!) but I think that it's beautiful all the same.

The World Is Not A Cold Dead Place

This was a module that we did on 'print processes' and 'laser cutting' the brief was to design an album cover. We had to choose from a list of album titles, band titles and record labels provided and produce an album cover using at least 2 of the print processes that we had learnt to use at the beginning of that module. These photos were taken for the album title 'the world is not a cold dead' place using a mount board laser cut out that I had made.
