Classy Creatures Wooden Drinks Coasters

I made some new wooden drinks coasters! This time they are round and feature three out of the five classy creature designs (the fox, the seagull and the crocodile) etched into the top.

Fox Coasters Blog Post

A fellow blogger brought some of my foxy coasters at the Illustration 109 shop a few weeks ago and she featured them on her blog with the photograph that she took below.

It's really nice to know that people are enjoying and making use of my illustrated products. See the full post here.

Our Etched Kitchen Tiles

These are the tiles that we are now using on our kitchen walls. I had to do a project at college on print processes- part of which involved using laser cutting. I decided to do some simple illustrations of kitchens gadgets/utensils and to etch them onto ceramic tiles using the laser cutter at college. I'm quite happy with the results although they do tend to get dirty quite easily- I wonder if there is some sort of varnish? I could maybe use to fill the etched section...

Finished Album Cover

This was the final outcome of my album cover design project. I went with the band 'shark speed' (see top left hand corner of the front cover), the title 'the world is not a cold dead place' and record label 'fly records' (see bottom left hand corner of the back cover). The record label logo is an etching which was the first print process that I used and the second process I used was the laser cutting for the front cover photograph. For the title I designed an 'alive' world- a world with lots of life on it- children, animals, tress etc but then cut it out of very plain white mount board. I then photographed it in a grave yard (you can see the grave stones in the background of the photos) but I photographed it with lots of living flowers in the fore ground. I was going to produce it in colour but in the end decided that black and white worked pretty well. I'm not quite sure what the end outcome is.. is the world a cold dead place? You decide...

The World Is Not A Cold Dead Place

This was a module that we did on 'print processes' and 'laser cutting' the brief was to design an album cover. We had to choose from a list of album titles, band titles and record labels provided and produce an album cover using at least 2 of the print processes that we had learnt to use at the beginning of that module. These photos were taken for the album title 'the world is not a cold dead' place using a mount board laser cut out that I had made.
